Summer brings fun and outdoor play for kids, but it also increases the risk of nosebleeds. Parents often notice sudden nosebleeds in children during the warmer months. Understanding the common causes can help prevent them and keep your child safe.

Why Are Kids More Prone to Nosebleeds in Summer? Hot summer air can dry out the nasal passages. This dryness weakens the tiny blood vessels in the nose, making them more likely to bleed. Children with allergies also suffer more during summer, as pollen and dust can irritate the nasal lining. Sneezing or rubbing the nose frequently can cause bleeding.

Another common reason is trauma. Kids are more active in summer—running, jumping, and playing. A small bump or fall can easily lead to a nosebleed.

To reduce the chances of nosebleeds, keep your child hydrated, use a humidifier indoors, and consult a pediatrician if nosebleeds are frequent.

Consult Dr. Anurag Sapna Mittal, Pediatrician in Indore, for expert advice and care tailored to your child’s needs.
